Backend Software Engineer – AI Finance Agent

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential fintech organization that is expanding its product suite across Southeast Asia. We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to build core infrastructure for an AI-powered financial services platform serving millions of users.

This is a remote position based in Thailand. Candidates must already be located in Thailand to be considered.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Build backend services, APIs and workflows for a mobile-first financial application
• Design reliable systems for user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliation, notifications and operations
• Support multiple product lines including insurance, payments, digital wallet, savings, investing, travel and broader financial services
• Collaborate with product and mobile teams to deliver customer-facing features efficiently
• Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, data providers and third-party partners
• Improve system reliability, observability, security and performance across production environments
• Build systems that are practical, auditable and suitable for regulated financial products

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments
• Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, system design and production debugging
• Demonstrated experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems
• Solid understanding of security, reliability, data quality and operational edge cases
• Ability to make practical trade-offs between speed, quality and risk
• Comfortable collaborating with product, mobile, operations and business teams
• Strong English communication skills (primary working language across global teams)

Strongly preferred:

• Experience in fintech, payments, insurance, lending, banking or other regulated products
• Track record of building systems that handle real-world complexity, not just theoretical design
• Demonstrated ownership of production issues and long-term reliability improvements
• Ability to think through edge cases, failure modes and operational impact
• History of moving quickly without creating technical debt or fragile foundations

• Engineers seeking isolated backend tasks without cross-functional collaboration
• Candidates who overlook security, data consistency, monitoring or operational risk
• Developers uncomfortable with fast-changing product requirements
• Those who cannot clearly articulate personal contributions versus team deliverables
