About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential agricultural technology company that is transforming how ranchers manage their operations. This Territory Manager position in North Dakota offers a unique opportunity to combine your ranching knowledge with cutting-edge technology sales. If you've ever wanted to work in tech without trading in your cowboy boots, this role bridges both worlds perfectly.
As Territory Manager, you'll drive new business growth while ensuring customer success across your designated region. This is a hands-on role where you'll spend significant time on ranches—whether on horseback helping gather cattle, riding side-by-sides across pastures, or sitting at kitchen tables discussing how technology can benefit operations. You'll be the face of the company in your territory, building relationships at cattle auctions, livestock association meetings, and industry events.
Frequent travel throughout the North Dakota territory is required as part of this role.
Responsibilities
- Prospect new business through outbound lead generation, driving up driveways, attending cattle auctions, and building relationships with local livestock and cattlemen's associations
- Conduct in-field sales activities on ranches, demonstrating value while helping customers with their daily operations
- Manage and expand existing customer relationships, identifying upsell opportunities and ensuring long-term satisfaction
- Hit ambitious sales targets through expert pipeline management and strategic territory planning
- Own the complete customer experience from initial contact through onboarding and deployment
- Serve as primary point of contact for gathering customer feedback and advocating for customer needs
- Collaborate with Product, Support, and Customer Onboarding teams to share field insights
- Attend and network at industry events including livestock shows and agricultural conferences
- Contribute to evolving the sales strategy to optimize for the US market
- Ensure smooth handoffs between sales and implementation teams
What We're Looking For
Required qualifications:
- Direct ranching or cattle operations experience with deep understanding of industry challenges
- Proven track record in sales and customer success, particularly creating new business opportunities
- Experience with value-based sales conversations and relationship building versus transactional selling
- Territory management experience with balanced focus on sales and customer success
- Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in high-stakes environments
- Results-driven, proactive attitude with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout North Dakota territory
- Comfortable getting hands dirty—this role requires being on ranches in all conditions
Bonus qualifications:
- Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies
- Background in agricultural technology customer-facing roles
- Experience selling SaaS solutions in B2B environments
