Principal, Strategic Data Center Partnerships

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential technology organization that operates global infrastructure at significant scale. We are seeking a Principal, Strategic Data Center Partnerships to develop and execute a worldwide data center portfolio strategy aligned with rapidly expanding AI and compute infrastructure needs. This position carries global responsibility for building and managing a strategic partnership program that will enable large-scale capacity growth.

This is a high-impact leadership role focused on structuring complex investment partnerships and commercial arrangements with financial institutions, developers, colocation providers, and institutional asset owners to accelerate infrastructure deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, structuring, negotiation, and execution of complex, multi-faceted investment partnerships focused on data center and power infrastructure development
• Grow and manage the strategic partnerships program, including identification and commercial structuring of development partner opportunities to enable future capacity expansion
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders across design, engineering, construction, finance, and legal to develop strategic plans that meet aggressive capacity targets
• Conduct detailed financial modeling, valuation, and sensitivity analysis of potential investments and partnerships to ensure commercial viability and alignment with business objectives
• Establish and manage governance frameworks around partnership arrangements
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key third-party partners in the global investment and infrastructure community
• Interface with institutional investors, developers, and infrastructure stakeholders to meet large-scale infrastructure requirements
• Travel domestically and internationally as required (25%+)

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in private equity, investments, or infrastructure development with specific focus on data center or power infrastructure
• Proven experience in financial structuring, investment analysis, and evaluation of infrastructure assets
• Demonstrated track record delivering large capital projects using complex commercial structures
• Strategic mindset with experience driving decision-making in ambiguous environments and influencing executive stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to thrive in fast-paced, hands-on environments
• Proven success leading cross-functional projects and developing complex solutions across multiple stakeholders
• Effective collaboration skills and cross-functional communication abilities
• Excellent communication and presentation capabilities
• Track record of organizational leadership, including leading teams and scaling organizations during growth phases
• Experience assessing industry trends, market opportunities, and competitive landscape in data center or power infrastructure sectors
• Bachelor's degree in a directly related field or equivalent practical experience
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development and familiarity with current AI technologies

Preferred qualifications:

• Direct experience in the data center industry
• International infrastructure development experience
• 12+ years of commercial real estate investment and development experience
• Ability to integrate AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable impact
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or real estate; MBA or J.D. preferred
• Experience with responsible AI practices including risk assessment and bias mitigation
• Private equity and investment banking background
