Senior IT & OT Systems Specialist (gn)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential international manufacturing organization in their search for a Senior IT & OT Systems Specialist based in Hamburg. In this role, you will serve as the central liaison between production departments, operational technology, and IT infrastructure.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Supporting and continuously developing manufacturing execution systems and production-adjacent applications and their peripherals
• Analyzing new requirements from production facilities and implementing them in collaboration with internal teams and external partners
• Performing customization and optimization of production-critical systems
• Developing concepts with the security team for a secure and future-proof OT landscape
• Planning, coordinating, and implementing new systems as well as technical modifications within the production environment
• Identifying opportunities for standardization, digitalization, and automation of international production processes
• Managing external service providers and ensuring sustainable documentation of the system landscape

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate brings:

• A degree in computer science, information technology, or comparable training with relevant professional experience
• Several years of hands-on experience in production IT, OT, or industrial system environments
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, and modern Industry 4.0 concepts
• Ideally, knowledge of manufacturing execution systems, OPC UA, or comparable industrial interfaces
• Enthusiasm for bridging technical and functional requirements
• A structured, solution-oriented, and self-directed working style
• Very good German and English language skills for collaboration in an international environment
• Willingness to undertake occasional international travel
