Senior Business Developer – National Security

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology consultancy with a strong National Security practice. As Senior Business Developer, you will own and grow a defined account within the National Security community. Working with autonomy and strategic direction, you will:

• Develop and execute your business growth plan for a National Security account
• Identify and build consultative relationships with key clients and stakeholders across the National Security community to generate sales opportunities
• Identify opportunities and collaborate with technical teams to shape propositions, maximize conversion, and close substantial sales
• Support bids with positioning, win themes, and pricing strategy
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the organization to deliver best-in-class technology solutions to clients
• Build and maintain deep domain knowledge of the National Security market and its evolving challenges
• Manage key client relationships during project delivery, ensuring repeat business built on trust

This is a remote role with occasional travel to client offices. The position is based in the UK and subject to Security Clearance Vetting procedures.

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks an experienced business development professional or account manager with established National Security sector credentials. You must bring an existing network of contacts and credibility gained through close work with National Security clients and their delivery partners.

Required experience and skills:

• Proven track record in business development or account management within the National Security sector, with evidence of significant sales delivered (multi-million-pound accounts)
• Established relationships and contacts within National Security client organizations and their supply base
• Exposure to or direct experience in one or more of: Operational Cyber, Novel Communications, Operational Technology, or Artificial Intelligence applications
• Experience developing and executing account plans, supporting bids with client value propositions, win themes, and commercial input
• Technical or science background providing credibility to engage confidently with technologists and clients
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships quickly
• UK nationality (required for Security Clearance Vetting)

Desirable: Previous experience in a consultancy, systems integrator, government agency, or other fee-for-service organization.
