Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential fire safety consultancy seeking a Technical Director to join their market-leading London team. In this senior role, you will:
- Stay current on technical developments in the fire industry, synthesizing emerging issues and providing timely updates to stakeholders
- Advise and deliver complex fire safety solutions for large construction engineering projects, ensuring high standards across all deliverables
- Manage current and future projects, meeting and exceeding financial targets while developing relationships with key clients
- Foster a culture of technical excellence and team engagement, becoming the go-to expert for critical client relationships
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice tailored to their specific needs
- Lead discussions with design teams, building control authorities, and fire services to ensure seamless project execution
- Attend industry conferences to network and stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices
- Mentor and supervise graduate engineers, supporting their professional development and integration into the team
What We're Looking For
Our client is seeking an experienced fire engineering professional with:
- A strong background in fire engineering, preferably within a consultancy environment
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Fire Engineering or a related field such as Mechanical Engineering
- Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards chartership
- Demonstrated ability to undertake work independently with strong initiative and self-management skills
- A genuine desire and proven ability to mentor and manage junior professionals
- Experience managing complex projects and client relationships in the fire safety sector
- Strong communication skills for liaising with multidisciplinary teams and regulatory bodies
The role is based in London with hybrid and flexible working arrangements available to support work-life balance.
