About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential engineering consultancy serving industrial automation and drive technology clients across Europe. Our talent team is seeking an experienced Embedded Software & Systems Consultant to join their Wiesbaden office and contribute to next-generation controller platforms, variable-frequency drives, and industrial IoT solutions.
This is a permanent, hybrid role combining remote work with office collaboration. You'll work within agile, international teams developing software for intelligent drive systems and time-sensitive networking applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize embedded software for controller platforms, drives, and servo systems using C/C++ in real-time operating system environments
- Design and implement solutions for open communication protocols and Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) technologies on embedded platforms
- Integrate, validate, and optimize third-party software components and modern communication stacks
- Work within model-driven development methodologies in an agile team setting
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary, international engineering teams to deliver high-performance, reliable automation software
- Communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders in clear, practical terms
- Contribute to CI/CD processes and maintain code quality standards
What We're Looking For
- Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, communications technology, or related field
- Several years of professional experience in hardware-oriented embedded software development with C/C++ under RTOS
- Strong proficiency in Python and Git-based development workflows
- Deep knowledge of Ethernet-based communication protocols including TCP/IP, TLS, and PTP
- Familiarity with industrial standards such as IEEE 1588, TSN, and X.509 is highly valued
- Experience with C#, SQL, GoogleTest, Jenkins, Azure DevOps/Pipelines, Visual Studio Code, or modern CI/CD processes is a plus
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to translate technical requirements into practical solutions
- Business-level German and very good English language skills required
