Director – International Relations and Diplomacy Programs

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential higher education institution seeking a Director of International Relations and Diplomacy Programs based in Paris. This senior academic leadership role oversees undergraduate, graduate, and online programs in International Relations and Diplomacy across multiple campus locations, ensuring curriculum quality, faculty excellence, and student success outcomes.

The Director will provide strategic academic leadership, manage program design and continuous improvement, oversee faculty hiring and performance, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. This position also includes campus-level academic leadership responsibilities in Paris, working closely with academic colleagues to deliver a transformative, student-centered educational experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead program design, review, and continuous improvement for International Relations and Diplomacy offerings across all delivery modalities
• Participate in assessment of program and course learning outcomes across academic areas
• Drive innovation in teaching methodologies and educational technology in collaboration with faculty and technology teams
• Identify, hire, and assign qualified faculty to International Relations and Diplomacy courses across multiple campus locations
• Collaborate with campus academic leaders on faculty recruitment and assignment for the Paris location
• Conduct annual faculty evaluations, course observations (online and onsite), and support faculty development initiatives
• Support and grow distance learning master's programs in the discipline
• Ensure program quality and compliance with accreditation requirements and regulatory standards
• Monitor student outcomes data and design interventions to support retention and success
• Partner with career services teams to enhance student employability and career outcomes
• Manage faculty workload and course assignments in coordination with academic leadership team
• Oversee implementation of learning management system templates and content standards

What We're Looking For

• Earned Doctorate degree in International Relations, Diplomacy, or related field from an accredited institution (or near completion)
• Proven experience and demonstrated excellence in higher education administration
• Experience in academic program design, review, and faculty/staff management
• Strong commitment to student support and success
• Knowledge and experience in distance learning and online instruction
• Familiarity with American and/or French higher education systems preferred
• Native English speaker or proficiency-level English competency required
• French, German, or Spanish language skills desirable
• Strong focus on quality and continuous improvement
• Leadership skills with proven ability to drive innovation and manage change
• Excellent intercultural communication skills and cultural agility
• Global mindset with ability to lead across multiple campus locations
