Data Engineer, Product Analytics

Our talent team is representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Data Engineer to join their Product Analytics function. This role offers the chance to work on large-scale data challenges that impact billions of users globally. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable data solutions that drive product strategy, optimize user experience, and support business growth across multiple platforms.

As part of a world-class data engineering community, you'll design and implement sophisticated data architectures, create frameworks for data logging and management, and translate complex datasets into actionable insights that shape product development.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and own data architecture for multiple large-scale projects, evaluating design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs
• Create and contribute to frameworks that improve data logging efficacy, working with infrastructure teams to resolve issues
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs and represent key insights through meaningful visualizations
• Define and manage Service Level Agreements for all datasets within your areas of ownership
• Implement security models based on privacy requirements, ensure safeguards are followed, address data quality issues, and evolve governance processes
• Design, build, and launch sophisticated data models and visualizations supporting multiple use cases across different products or domains
• Solve complex data integration problems using optimal ETL patterns, frameworks, and query techniques from structured and unstructured data sources
• Own existing production processes, optimizing complex code through advanced algorithmic concepts
• Optimize pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems to facilitate easier development of data artifacts
• Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities that drive measurable impact
• Mentor team members through actionable feedback

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of experience in data-focused roles such as data analyst, data scientist, or data engineer
• 7+ years of hands-on experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (Python, C++, C#, Scala, or similar)
• Strong ability to tell data-driven stories and influence stakeholders through clear insights and recommendations
• Track record of building credibility through structured, clear communication as a trusted strategic partner
• Master's or Ph.D. degree in a STEM field preferred
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable impact (efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience implementing responsible, ethical AI practices including risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality reviews
• Ongoing AI skill development in areas such as prompt engineering, context engineering, and agent orchestration
• Commitment to staying current with emerging AI technologies
