(Senior) Product Director, Local Growth

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential crypto exchange client that is building localized trading platforms across high-growth emerging markets. They need a product leader who has driven complete 0-to-1 business cycles in priority overseas markets and can own the product strategy and local growth playbook for the LATAM region.

This role sits at the intersection of local business operations and global product engineering. You'll translate user profiles, regulatory landscapes, and competitive dynamics into product and growth strategies while driving global resources to deliver locally. This is a product leadership position with business-owner accountability for regional growth metrics and product competitiveness.

Responsibilities

• Regional Product Strategy: Own product strategy and local growth planning for your assigned region, working across local business teams and global product/engineering to drive product competitiveness and business growth outcomes.
• Market Intelligence: Develop deep understanding of local user profiles, regulatory frameworks, competitive landscapes, and cultural nuances. Translate these into comprehensive product competition and channel growth strategies.
• Ecosystem Monitoring: Continuously track the local crypto and fintech ecosystem, including global and regional competitors, plus macro factors like inflation, currency depreciation, and cross-border remittance demand.
• End-to-End Product Ownership: Own the complete local product experience covering onboarding, fiat deposit, market analysis, trading, and earn products throughout the user journey.
• Feedback Loop Management: Build comprehensive local product feedback systems using behavior data, funnel analysis, and user feedback to identify bottlenecks and high-leverage opportunities in conversion, retention, and engagement.
• Channel Growth: Work with local teams to identify, introduce, integrate, and scale effective user acquisition channels. Leverage local networks including KOLs, fintech partners, and payment providers.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with regional BD, Marketing, Operations, and global product/engineering teams to align product initiatives with local growth objectives.

What We're Looking For

• 0-to-1 Emerging Market Experience: Proven business building and growth experience in emerging markets (LATAM, Southeast Asia, Turkey, MENA, or similar). You can clearly articulate regional metrics owned and business outcomes delivered in product, strategy, or growth roles during early-stage international expansion.
• Growth Methodology Expertise: Comprehensive experience owning complete user funnels (acquisition → activation → retention) with measurable results including CAC, activation rates, D7/D30 retention, LTV, and reactivation metrics through growth experimentation and product intervention.
• Product Management Strength: Ability to define product strategy and success metrics, prioritize roadmaps, drive A/B testing, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver results.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to drive alignment across design, engineering, data, and commercial teams while managing external partnerships and navigating regulatory conversations. Experience aligning resources between local and global organizations.
• Deep Local Market Knowledge: Understanding of local user behaviors, payment ecosystems (PIX, SPEI, Mercado Pago, or regional equivalents), regulatory environments, and competitive dynamics. Established local network of partners, KOLs, and industry relationships.
• Relevant Product Experience: Consumer product management background in fintech, crypto, or trading platforms preferred. Candidates with team management or mentoring experience will be considered for senior-level placement.
• Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication in English required. Mandarin proficiency is a strong plus for HQ collaboration.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or other LATAM regional languages
• Crypto exchange product experience including spot/derivatives trading, order types, fee structures, and fiat on/off-ramp flows
• Familiarity with local payment rails and fiat-to-crypto conversion flows in emerging markets
• Hands-on trading experience in FX, equities, or crypto
