Agentic AI Technical Mentor – Independent Contractor (US Canada, Europe, MENA, APAC)

We are representing a confidential edtech organization that provides specialized technical training in emerging AI technologies. Our talent team is building a pool of experienced AI practitioners to serve as technical mentors on an independent contractor basis. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity for professionals across APAC, Canada, Europe, and the USA who want to share their expertise in agentic AI while maintaining their current commitments.

Responsibilities

Your work will center on three core mentoring activities:

Personal 1:1 Sessions:

• Conduct video calls to provide personalized support on course content and technical projects
• Review student project submissions and areas of difficulty prior to each session
• Address learner questions and guide students through challenging concepts

Technical Deep-Dive Sessions:

• Prepare and deliver slide presentations reviewing advanced concepts in greater detail
• Share real-world use cases to broaden student understanding
• Walk through project requirements and demonstrate grading criteria
• Host Q&A sessions following presentations

Group Q&A Sessions:

• Host regular sessions via Slack or video to address learner queries
• Provide guidance on projects and coursework in a group setting
• No advance preparation required for these sessions

What We're Looking For

Core Qualifications:

• 5+ years of proven technical experience in AI and related fields
• Strong passion for mentoring and helping others succeed
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Deep understanding of the tech industry and emerging AI trends
• Flexibility to work part-time as an external contractor alongside current commitments

Mandatory Technical Skills - Agentic AI:

• Strong understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic reasoning frameworks such as CoT and ReAct
• Experience designing and implementing prompt chains, role-based prompts, feedback loops, and iterative prompt refinement
• Hands-on experience building agentic workflows, including task routing, orchestration, sequential workflows, parallel workflows, and reflective AI workflows
• Ability to design and implement AI agents with tool use, API integrations, structured outputs, memory, state management, and database interaction
• Experience with RAG-based agent systems, including single-agent and multi-agent RAG implementations
• Knowledge of AI agent evaluation, including testing, debugging, and improving agent performance
• Understanding of multi-agent system design, including orchestration, routing, state coordination, and multi-agent architectures
• Ability to explain complex agentic AI concepts clearly through instruction, demonstrations, and learner support
