Security Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Security Engineer to join their hybrid team in London. Our client is a cloud-native banking technology provider committed to modern security practices and innovation. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies including AI, Kubernetes, and automation within a collaborative, remote-first security engineering team.

The security engineering team recently won recognition for Best Implementation of DevSecOps and works across all major business initiatives to ensure security is embedded throughout the organization's processes and products.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software development and platform teams to deliver and maintain secure products using modern cloud-native technologies
• Build expertise in AI security, application security, and stay current with emerging technologies
• Champion security best practices through consultations and training sessions with development teams
• Trial and evaluate new security technologies to support organizational adoption
• Support and maintain existing security tooling while assessing new solutions
• Perform risk-based vulnerability management, balancing security requirements with business and customer needs
• Communicate security risks and improvements to stakeholders across the organization
• Work alongside security engineers to gain familiarity with organizational processes and technical architecture

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications:

• Proven experience writing code and working in cloud-native environments
• Hands-on experience with Azure,.NET, Terraform, and Kubernetes (or equivalent cloud technologies)
• Strong security knowledge with enthusiasm for software security practices
• Understanding of common software vulnerabilities and ability to explain them to technical and non-technical audiences
• Excellent communication skills to articulate security risks and improvements to diverse stakeholders
• Adaptability and commitment to continuous learning and self-development
• Delivery-focused team player who proactively suggests improvements
• Awareness of the broader security landscape and emerging threats

Desirable experience:

• Background in fintech or similar regulated environments
• Experience with AI security, governance, and leveraging technology to stay ahead of threats
