About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech client seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to join their London-based team on a hybrid basis. This is a critical role owning the end-to-end preparation of annual reports, consolidated financial statements, and statutory accounts for a regulated financial services organization.

Our client operates on a modern technology platform and requires someone who can translate complex IFRS requirements into accurate, compliant financial disclosures while coordinating multiple stakeholders across the business and managing external audit relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the complete preparation of annual reports and accounts, including consolidated IFRS financial statements, notes, disclosures, and strategic reporting sections
  • Prepare standalone statutory accounts for regulated banking entities in the UK and EU, including primary statements and supporting documentation
  • Develop and maintain robust working papers, disclosure checklists, review processes, and scalable financial controls
  • Own the detailed reporting plan and critical path, coordinating inputs across multiple stakeholders and delivering against Board, audit, and filing deadlines
  • Act as primary point of contact for external auditors, coordinating audit evidence and responses across the business
  • Monitor audit progress and outstanding matters, escalating issues to protect reporting timetables and governance processes
  • Prepare robust going concern assessment papers using planning projections and internal reports
  • Maintain current knowledge of IFRS and apply it when drafting and reviewing financial statements, accounting policies, and notes
  • Assess the impact of new and revised IFRS standards, amendments, and interpretations through structured horizon scanning
  • Partner with Financial Control and subject-matter experts to implement new accounting requirements and reflect business developments in external reporting
  • Prepare Board-level papers including going concern assessments, horizon scanning, and annual report updates
  • Support Board Audit Committee reporting throughout the reporting cycle

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

  • At least two years of recent, hands-on experience preparing, project managing, and owning Annual Reports and Accounts and statutory financial statements, ideally within fintech, banking, payments, or broader financial services
  • Strong practical knowledge of IFRS with the ability to apply accounting and disclosure requirements when drafting and reviewing financial statements
  • Demonstrable experience preparing consolidated financial statements and statutory accounts from planning through filing
  • Proven ability to own complex reporting timetables, coordinate multiple contributors, and deliver complete financial statements to deadline
  • Experience managing the external audit process from the preparer side while retaining ownership of accounts and reporting
  • Strong stakeholder management, technical writing, and attention to detail
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with relevant post-qualification financial reporting experience

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience preparing Annual Reports and Accounts for regulated banking or financial services entities in the UK and/or EU
  • Experience applying complex IFRS requirements, developing accounting policies, and preparing technical accounting papers
  • Familiarity with Board and Audit Committee reporting, governance reviews, and statutory approval processes
