Chief of Staff or Founders Associate

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential AI research organization in Munich that is building specialized systems for professional services. They are seeking either a Chief of Staff or Founders Associate to help establish and scale core operations during an exciting early-stage growth phase.

This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the founding team on building company infrastructure from the ground up—and to do so using AI automation wherever possible. You'll be joining at the pre-seed stage with backing from prominent technology investors and researchers.

We will present one candidate for this role. The exact title and scope will match your experience level: Founders Associates work alongside leadership on operations; Chiefs of Staff own key operational domains.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full hiring cycle including job postings, candidate communication, contract preparation, and onboarding coordination
• Maintain corporate compliance and administrative operations across German and US entities, including accounting, payroll, and regulatory filings
• Manage applications for public funding programs and prepare materials for investor communications
• Implement operational tools and processes, building AI agents to automate routine tasks
• Support the founders on cross-functional projects such as offsite planning, partnership agreements, and other strategic initiatives

What We're Looking For

• University degree in business, economics, law, engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Background in a startup, consulting firm, or other high-velocity environment—either early career with strong evidence of ownership, or experienced and ready to build operations from scratch
• Highly organized, dependable, and comfortable taking on tasks that have no established playbook
• Already using AI tools extensively in your daily work and eager to push automation much further
• Fluent communication skills in both English and German
• Authorized to work in Germany
