CE Marking Consultant, Industry Expert and AI Pioneer (Freelance/Part-time, Germany)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential compliance technology organization based in Heidelberg, Germany. We are seeking an experienced CE marking consultant to join a pioneering project that combines regulatory expertise with artificial intelligence development.

This is a freelance or part-time engagement for a seasoned professional who maintains their own client portfolio and wants to help shape the future of machinery compliance work in the EU market.

Responsibilities

• Conduct real client projects using our client's compliance platform and provide structured feedback on workflow, AI outputs, and exported reports
• Validate the accuracy and practical utility of AI-driven gap analysis tools against your professional judgment
• Identify where the platform saves time and where friction points exist, enabling improvements before wider launch
• Introduce clients preparing for the 2027 Machinery Regulation transition and guide them through their first projects on the platform
• Evaluate the regulatory accuracy of AI model outputs during training progress, based on your knowledge of the Directive, Regulation 2023/1230, and harmonized standards
• Represent the platform credibly to mid-sized manufacturers and large industrial clients

What We're Looking For

• Ten or more years of hands-on experience in CE marking and technical documentation within the EU machinery sector
• Native German and fluent English—both are required
• An active portfolio of clients who are machinery manufacturers or system integrators subject to the Machinery Directive and the upcoming transition to Regulation 2023/1230
• Deep knowledge of technical documentation structure, risk assessment per EN ISO 12100, harmonized standards, and conformity assessment procedures
• Genuine curiosity about AI and technology, with willingness to work at the frontier of what's possible in compliance
• Professional standing to credibly represent innovative compliance solutions to industrial clients
• Understanding of where the compliance process breaks down, where documentation gaps hide, and what auditors actually look for in technical dossiers
