Senior Accounting Manager (w/m/d) – Multi-Entity & Process Build-up

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential compliance software organization in their search for a Senior Accounting Manager to take ownership of multi-entity financial accounting and scale processes for growth. You will lead ongoing financial accounting operations, drive internalization projects, and support the finance team as an experienced, reliable professional.

• Multi-Entity Financial Accounting: Independently manage ongoing financial accounting for multiple entities, including evaluation of non-standard transactions; prepare monthly closings and VAT pre-registrations autonomously.
• Year-End Closing & Reporting: Prepare annual financial statements for multiple entities in close coordination with the Head of Finance and tax advisors; reconcile intercompany transactions and consolidation.
• Internalization of Accounting Processes: Gradually transition external financial accounting for all entities in-house; help design the future in-house accounting system (DATEV or MS Business Central/Navision) and actively participate in its implementation.
• Post-Merger Integration: Support integration of newly acquired entities; standardize chart of accounts, reporting, and processes across the organization.
• Process Build-up & Scaling: Establish and standardize scalable accounting processes and systems that grow with the business and support future acquisitions.

What We're Looking For

• Solid Qualifications: Completed professional training (e.g., Financial Accountant, Certified Accountant IHK, experienced Tax Specialist), or degree in accounting with subsequent practical experience.
• Multi-Year Experience: Relevant experience in ongoing financial accounting, including monthly closings and VAT pre-registrations, as well as participation in annual financial statements, ideally in a multi-entity environment.
• Technical Confidence: Independent assessment of business transactions and sound evaluation of commercial and tax law implications.
• Software Proficiency: Confident use of DATEV or MS Business Central (Navision) in multi-entity environments; strong Excel skills.
• Work Style: Independent, meticulous, and structured approach to work.
• Language Skills: Fluent German and good English proficiency.
• Nice-to-Haves: Experience with annual closings/tax returns in own responsibility; payroll accounting; internalization of accounting from a tax advisory firm; tools like Salesforce, JustOn, or Moss.
