Sales Director Public Sector (d/w/m)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking a Sales Director to lead their public sector business. In this role, you will:

• Lead and develop the public sector sales team, managing both strategic direction and day-to-day operations
• Partner with senior sales leadership to refine go-to-market strategy for government and public administration clients
• Own revenue targets, growth metrics, and market positioning for this critical segment
• Guide your team through complex procurement processes and negotiations common in public sector sales
• Drive scaling of the SaaS portfolio within government accounts, translating segment strategy into team objectives
• Support partner management activities with resellers, distributors, and system integrators at the executive level
• Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure smooth implementation and long-term customer satisfaction
• Work cross-functionally with product management and marketing to develop public sector positioning and market entry strategies
• Provide regular forecasts, market analysis, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership

What We're Looking For

• Minimum five years of experience in business development, sales, or key account management with people leadership responsibility, ideally in SaaS or technology environments
• Proven track record selling to public sector organizations with deep understanding of procurement processes, regulatory frameworks, and decision-making structures within government agencies
• Demonstrated success building and leading sales teams, with strong coaching and talent development capabilities
• Deep understanding of SaaS business models, cloud technologies, and digital transformation initiatives
• Experience with agile methodologies and modern partnership models
• Degree in business, STEM field, or equivalent qualification
• Fluency in German and English at C1 level or higher
• Located in or willing to relocate to Berlin
