Responsibilities

We are representing a Hamburg-based professional services firm seeking a tax office specialist or IT professional with deep DATEV expertise to join their three-person administration team. This role sits at the intersection of client service, system administration, and process improvement.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Serving as first point of contact for clients on all DATEV-related questions, from permissions management to troubleshooting daily issues
• Onboarding new clients into the DATEV environment, including interface setup with their ERP systems and technical handover
• Providing internal consulting to colleagues in accounting and tax advisory on DATEV applications and workflows
• Managing firm-wide DATEV organization including user rights, updates, licensing, and documentation
• Contributing ideas for automating recurring tasks using AI or other digital tools where opportunities arise

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings either:

• A qualification as Steuerfachangestellter (tax office specialist) with strong IT aptitude, OR
• An IT-focused qualification such as Fachinformatiker or IT-Systemkaufmann/-frau with hands-on experience in DATEV environments, ideally in a professional services setting

Technical and professional requirements:

• Extensive working knowledge of DATEV Kanzlei-Rechnungswesen, Unternehmen online, or comparable DATEV applications
• Structured, independent working style with the ability to manage multiple incoming requests simultaneously
• Clear, patient communication skills, especially when addressing recurring client questions
• FAIT (Fachassistent IT) certification is a strong plus, or willingness to pursue this qualification with employer support
• Fluent German and good English language skills
