Enterprise Security Engineer

We are representing a confidential technology client in their search for an Enterprise Security Engineer based in the USA. Our client operates a global workforce security function that protects employees, devices, and corporate software across multiple brands and geographies. This is a hands-on role implementing and operating security controls that enable secure-by-default systems without friction.

Responsibilities

• Implement and tune workforce security controls including phishing-resistant MFA, conditional access policies, device trust frameworks, and SaaS posture management across a multi-brand environment
• Operate the day-to-day security stack: endpoint detection and response (EDR), zero-trust network access, identity-aware proxies, browser security, and data loss prevention (DLP)
• Build and maintain automation using AI-assisted coding tools for security workflows, incident response, and compliance evidence collection
• Address modern SaaS risk including shadow IT discovery, OAuth token governance, and high-risk application reviews in partnership with IT and third-party risk teams
• Support secure-by-default baselines that enable teams rather than block them
• Take ownership of specific enterprise security tools within your first six months, such as EDR policy tuning, zero-trust ACL maintenance, or repository security controls

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of experience in security engineering, enterprise security, IT security, or a related field
• Hands-on experience administering identity providers (e.g., Okta) and Google Workspace
• Working knowledge of modern authentication standards: SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, FIDO2/WebAuthn
• Practical experience operating EDR/XDR platforms and securing macOS, Windows, and Linux endpoints through MDM
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Ability to write production-quality automation scripts in Python, Go, or similar languages
• Strong written communication skills

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with zero-trust tools such as Tailscale or Google IAP
• Hands-on work with repository security controls, endpoint security platforms (e.g., Palo Alto Cortex), or Chrome Enterprise
• Experience with SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM), CASB, or OAuth-scope governance
• Experience operating native DLP capabilities in major SaaS platforms
• Infrastructure-as-code experience (e.g., Terraform) applied to security tooling
• Experience supporting ISO 27001 or SOC 2 audit cycles
• Contributions to the security community: blog posts, conference talks, bug bounty participation, or open-source projects
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP Associate or GIAC

Pay

This role offers competitive base compensation. Our client's national base pay range for this position within the United States is $130,600–$192,000 USD, determined by skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The role also includes opportunities for equity grants.
