Working Student – Procurement (f/m/d)

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential clean-tech organization in the Ludwigsburg area. They're scaling rapidly and need a working student to support direct procurement operations for electromechanical components and battery-related materials in a fabless manufacturing environment.

This is a genuine operational role with real responsibility from day one—not administrative busywork, but hands-on involvement in securing component availability, managing supplier relationships, and supporting new product introductions alongside a lean, senior procurement team.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operational purchasing activities including order management, delivery tracking, and availability monitoring for direct materials across the supply network
• Execute end-to-end RFQ processes from initial inquiry and cost comparison through sample orders to series supply handover
• Provide pricing indications and supplier benchmarks during early engineering phases to anchor cost targets before design lock
• Serve as operational point of contact for contract manufacturers, tracking commitments and escalating deviations to maintain supply continuity
• Maintain and improve purchasing data quality in the ERP system, including lead times, minimum order quantities, pricing, and supplier records
• Support cost-reduction initiatives through bill-of-materials-level price benchmarking and cross-supplier analysis
• Contribute to building more efficient, digital purchasing processes through automation and AI applications

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in economics, business administration, engineering, or comparable field
• Previous practical experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations (internships count)
• Familiarity with electromechanical components, assemblies, or hardware products—you should understand what you're purchasing
• Structured and reliable work style: you track your own tasks, follow up proactively, and flag issues before they escalate
• Clear and direct communication skills in both supplier writing and conversation
• Fluent in German and English; both languages are required for daily business operations
• Nice to have: experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems; background in electronics, battery systems, or contract manufacturing environments
