About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential HR consulting organization in the Nuremberg area. Our client supports mid-market and enterprise companies in employer branding and talent acquisition. They are seeking a Head of Applicant Phone Screening to lead a critical team responsible for first candidate contact—the moment that determines project success.

This is a leadership role with full accountability for a team of 8-12 HR phone specialists. You will drive performance through clear KPIs, coaching, and process optimization. This position requires presence during afternoon and evening hours when the team operates at peak capacity.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and manage a team of 8-12 HR phone screening specialists through regular 1:1s, goal-setting, and performance accountability
• Ensure quality assurance by monitoring calls, providing concrete feedback, refining conversation scripts, and maintaining consistent candidate experience
• Own departmental KPIs including contact rate, qualification rate, forwarding rate, and handling time; translate metrics into actionable improvements
• Optimize processes, tools, and applicant database systems; maintain clean interfaces with project management and client service teams
• Recruit, onboard, and develop new phone specialists; scale the team in alignment with organizational growth

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in phone-based communication, sales, or recruiting with strong personal phone skills
• Initial leadership experience or readiness to take the next step into management
• Confidence to manage a team of 8-12 people and take ownership of results
• Data-driven mindset: ability to recognize patterns in metrics and make decisions based on numbers rather than opinions
• Skill in delivering clear, direct feedback that elevates team performance
• Excellent communication abilities in German (written and spoken at native or near-native level)
• Strong organizational skills with commitment to structure and clean processes
• Positive, curious approach to new challenges
• Location in Erlangen, Nuremberg, or surrounding area
• Willingness to be present during afternoon and evening hours when the team is most active
