About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential international organization seeking a Senior Kafka Specialist for a long-term remote engagement. Our talent team is looking for an experienced professional to lead critical data synchronization initiatives involving Apache Kafka, Oracle, and MongoDB environments.
This is a remote contractor position based in the United States. Candidates must be fluent in English.
Responsibilities
- Develop Kafka consumer applications and streams to perform two-way synchronization between Oracle, Kafka, and MongoDB
- Extract data from Oracle to Kafka topics using Kafka Connect and Change Data Capture technologies
- Perform ETL operations to transform topics into correct target structures
- Load transformed data as MongoDB documents and manage reverse synchronization from MongoDB back to Oracle
- Create comprehensive tests to ensure delivered code meets all requirements
- Train development and production teams on Kafka solutions and best practices
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree
- 5+ years of experience in Software Development, Linux System Administration, or DevOps
- 2+ years of hands-on experience building and managing solutions using Apache Kafka
- Proven experience converting monolith applications into microservices architecture
- Demonstrated expertise with DevOps and CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Git, and Docker
- Strong knowledge of Kafka components and Kafka security models
- Team player with a positive attitude and solution-driven mentality
- Fluency in English required
