Android Software Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking an experienced Android Software Engineer based in the Philippines. Our client is building a mobile-first platform that serves millions of users across Southeast Asia, and they need talented engineers who are passionate about creating exceptional native Android experiences.

This is a remote role for candidates already based in the Philippines. You'll be joining a global team of over 20 nationalities who are reimagining how people interact with financial services on mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship native Android features using Kotlin for financial services applications
• Create intuitive mobile flows for insurance, payments, claims processing, and other financial products
• Collaborate with product and design teams to simplify complex user journeys
• Integrate backend APIs and ensure mobile experiences are stable, secure, and reliable
• Optimize app performance including crash rate reduction, loading states, responsiveness, and memory management
• Leverage analytics and user behavior data to continuously improve the product
• Implement AI-assisted mobile experiences where they genuinely enhance user journeys

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin
• Proven track record of shipping production Android applications
• Strong expertise in Jetpack, Coroutines, Flow, and modern Android architecture patterns
• Deep understanding of mobile UX principles, usability considerations, and edge case handling
• Experience integrating REST APIs and troubleshooting production issues
• Ability to execute quickly with strong ownership and attention to product quality
• Portfolio including app links, GitHub repositories, or examples of shipped work is highly valued
• Strong English communication skills required for working with global teams

Technical environment: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, Coroutines & Flow, SQL/NoSQL databases, TensorFlow Lite
