About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential software organization in the United Kingdom. They are seeking a Legal Counsel to provide practical, business-focused legal advice supporting commercial activities in an international SaaS environment. This role will balance legal risk with commercial objectives while partnering with Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Product, Security, and Compliance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS subscriptions, cloud services agreements, software licences, Statements of Work, professional services agreements, and partner contracts
  • Review and negotiate agreements with customers, suppliers, resellers, OEMs, and other third parties
  • Advise business stakeholders on technology contracting, licensing, commercial risk, regulatory considerations, and contractual disputes
  • Provide guidance on data privacy and security requirements, including GDPR, data processing agreements, and customer security terms
  • Develop and continuously improve contract templates, negotiation playbooks, guidelines, and legal processes
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, manage external counsel when required, and monitor developments in privacy, technology, and commercial law

What We're Looking For

  • A law degree and the appropriate professional qualification and admission to practise law
  • At least five years of commercial contracting experience, ideally within a SaaS, software, or broader technology environment
  • Strong knowledge of software, cloud, data, and commercial contract law
  • Understanding of data privacy and security requirements relevant to SaaS solutions, including familiarity with GDPR
  • Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong business judgement, integrity, and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively while balancing legal risk with commercial objectives
