Senior Accountant

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech client in London seeking a Senior Accountant to take ownership of critical accounting processes during a period of significant growth. This is not a traditional back-office role—you'll work directly with leadership to build financial infrastructure that's accurate, audit-ready, and drives strategic decision-making.

This position offers genuine ownership from day one, working with a small, high-performing team that values extreme ownership and low-ego collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own key components of monthly and quarterly close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Take end-to-end ownership of assigned accounting areas such as cash management, accruals, payroll, capitalised costs, fixed assets, and revenue-related balances
• Prepare financial analyses and reporting packages, ensuring accounting outputs align with forecasts and business objectives
• Design and implement process improvements, automation initiatives, and internal controls to support scalability
• Support audit and review processes by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests
• Partner closely with senior leadership and legal counsel on financial matters

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience; high-growth tech or startup exposure is valuable but not required
• Proven ability to execute fast, clean monthly closes with strong attention to detail
• End-to-end ownership mindset—you follow through on commitments and don't let details slip
• Process improvement orientation with genuine interest in automation and AI-enabled workflows
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across Finance and other departments
• Analytical capabilities to connect accounting results with business drivers

Preferred qualifications: Big 4 background, high-growth technology company experience, CPA or equivalent certification, exposure to revenue recognition or product accounting.
