About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential networking software company in their search for a Software Engineer focused on edge infrastructure and networking. Our client is building secure connectivity solutions used by teams of all sizes globally. This is a remote position based in the United States.
As part of the engineering team, you will design, build, and maintain global relay infrastructure while contributing to open-source client code. You'll work on network protocols, troubleshoot complex connectivity issues, and ensure the scalability and performance of distributed services.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and document networking features and connectivity solutions for the network dataplane
- Enhance and iterate on relay infrastructure and associated network protocols
- Investigate and resolve complex network issues across diverse technical environments
- Maintain live services through observability integration, incident management, and technical support escalation
- Evaluate and improve performance, reliability, and scaling capabilities of networking systems
- Apply security-first principles throughout the development lifecycle of networking components
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to advance hosted services and client capabilities
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in networking software development and troubleshooting
- Deep expertise in core networking concepts including VPNs, NAT traversal, routing, and IP addressing
- Experience with distributed systems and maintaining global-scale services
- Background in SRE and DevOps methodologies
- Proficiency in Go programming language (highly desired)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for both collaborative work and autonomous execution
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
