Sr. Credit Risk Analyst

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join their credit risk team. This is a remote opportunity based in the United States, working with a company that operates in the consumer lending marketplace space.

Our client uses advanced analytics and machine learning to drive automated credit decisions. As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst, you'll develop verification and fraud strategies that directly impact credit performance and customer experience. This role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge data science tools and contribute to meaningful financial solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop credit and fraud strategies using data, machine learning models, and advanced analytics to optimize risk decisions
• Design and execute A/B tests to evaluate risk and customer experience trade-offs
• Partner with data science, product, engineering, and operations teams to implement and validate credit and fraud prevention strategies
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis related to risk management, product development, and operational efficiency
• Analyze portfolio performance at granular segment levels on an ongoing basis
• Identify trends and perform root-cause analysis to isolate key performance drivers
• Test innovative approaches including new data sources, analytical methodologies, and predictive models
• Communicate technical findings and strategic recommendations to risk management and executive leadership

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics
• 3+ years of experience (with Master's) or 5+ years (with Bachelor's) managing credit risk and/or fraud in consumer lending; personal loan or credit card experience is a plus
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python (required); experience with DBT and Looker is a plus
• Deep analytical and problem-solving skills with knowledge of segmentation, statistical procedures, and financial analytics
• Excellent communication skills with ability to present technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences including senior management
• Curiosity to challenge assumptions and question the status quo
• Strong ownership mindset and motivation to drive business results
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
• Self-starter comfortable with ambiguity
• Candidates with strong technology backgrounds and analytical skills but limited financial services experience are encouraged to apply
