Marine Structures Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential engineering firm seeking a Marine Structures Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. This internship is based in the Chelsea and Clinton areas of Manhattan and offers hands-on experience in coastal and waterfront infrastructure projects.

We are looking for undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in civil engineering, marine engineering, or related disciplines who want to gain practical experience in marine structures design and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and analysis of marine structures including piers, bulkheads, and waterfront facilities
• Support engineering teams in preparing technical drawings and specifications
• Conduct site visits to waterfront project locations throughout the New York metropolitan area
• Perform structural calculations and modeling under supervision of licensed engineers
• Contribute to project documentation, reports, and presentations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on coastal infrastructure projects
• Research industry standards and best practices for marine construction

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in civil engineering, marine engineering, coastal engineering, or a related field
• Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later
• Strong academic performance with coursework in structural analysis, mechanics of materials, or hydraulics
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software preferred
• Interest in waterfront development, coastal infrastructure, or marine construction
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Authorization to work in the United States

Pay
