Senior Product Manager (ISR) Defence & Intelligence (f/m/x)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential defense technology organization in their search for a Senior Product Manager specializing in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of satellite analytics, AI-powered geospatial intelligence, and operational defense requirements. You will own the product strategy and delivery for government-sector ISR applications, translating complex operational needs into deployable solutions for military and intelligence users.

This is a hands-on product leadership position based in Berlin (hybrid, minimum two days per week on-site) where you will manage the roadmap, backlog, and customer-facing deliverables for AI-based object detection, change detection, and 3D terrain analysis products derived from very high resolution satellite imagery.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end product management for ISR and imagery intelligence applications, taking solutions from demonstration through to secure on-premise deployment
• Manage the product backlog in two-week sprint cycles, translating operational intelligence requirements into actionable user stories and engineering specifications
• Deliver defense projects on time and on scope, owning milestones, deliverables, and stakeholder communication across customer-facing engagements
• Build and maintain a unified roadmap that reconciles customer timelines, technical component maturity, and operational concepts
• Serve as the ISR subject matter expert within the team, providing operational context on the intelligence cycle, collection and tasking workflows, and imagery exploitation processes
• Conduct workshops, user testing sessions, and requirement-gathering meetings with military and intelligence agency users
• Support business development efforts by contributing operational credibility to proposals and capability demonstrations
• Define release scope, deployment models, and support frameworks for secure on-premise and air-gapped environments

What We're Looking For

• Professional ISR, GEOINT, or IMINT background through military service (Bundeswehr), intelligence community, defense procurement, or defense industry experience
• Operational fluency in the intelligence cycle, collection and tasking, and how imagery products are produced and consumed at staff level
• Proven ability to write requirements documents that translate operational needs into engineering deliverables
• Track record of driving cross-functional work to deadline in complex environments with multiple dependencies
• German citizenship or European citizenship with eligibility to obtain a German security clearance (Sicherheitsüberprüfung)
• German at native or fully fluent level and professional English proficiency
• Willingness to work hybrid in Berlin (minimum two days per week on-site) and travel within Germany to customer sites
• Strong ownership mentality, clear communication style, and collaborative approach across technical and non-technical teams
• Pragmatic mindset that balances operational ambition with realistic delivery timelines

Preferred qualifications:

• Product management or product ownership experience with backlog management and sprint cadence
• Project management experience in defense or publicly funded programs (national, EU, NATO)
• Experience writing CONOPS, operational requirements, or capability documents
• Familiarity with satellite imagery, remote sensing, or AI/ML products
• Experience delivering software into secure on-premise or air-gapped environments
• Existing valid German security clearance (SÜ2 / SÜ3)
• Working knowledge of NATO standards and interoperability for imagery and geospatial data

Tech environment: Linear, Confluence, Google Workspace, Figma, QGIS, STAC-based imagery catalogs, very high resolution optical and SAR imagery, 3D surface models
