Storyous Product Designer (UX/UI)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization in Czechia that provides point-of-sale and business management solutions for the hospitality industry. Our talent team is seeking a Product Designer (UX/UI) to take ownership of the user experience across their complete product ecosystem.

This is a newly created role with significant autonomy. You'll serve as the design partner to Product and Engineering teams, transforming requirements and ideas into thoughtful designs and prototypes. The position involves both maintaining existing design systems and leading a major redesign of their tablet application.

Responsibilities

• Design UX/UI across multiple platforms including tablet applications, web admin interfaces, mobile apps, kiosk systems, and analytics dashboards
• Lead the preparation and execution of a comprehensive tablet application redesign
• Convert product requirements, customer needs, and original concepts into user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and final designs in Figma
• Identify opportunities to simplify and improve product functionality and user journeys
• Conduct field research with end users, lead user interviews, observe product usage in real operational environments, and apply insights to design decisions
• Develop and maintain the design language, component libraries, and templates while ensuring consistency across platforms
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering from initial concept through implementation
• Resolve design challenges, prepare comprehensive designs including edge cases and various states, and document design decisions in Figma, Jira, and Confluence
• Leverage AI tools such as Claude to accelerate routine work, iterate on designs, and create interactive prototypes

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience designing digital products with a portfolio demonstrating projects that reached production
• Advanced proficiency in Figma including components, variants, prototyping, and shared libraries
• Experience with both touch interfaces and complex web applications
• Ability to transform ambiguous requirements into clear user flows and implementable designs
• Practical experience conducting user interviews, usability testing, or field observation
• Capability to work independently, set priorities, and propose improvements proactively
• Strong collaboration skills with Product and Engineering teams, comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback
• Practical use of AI tools with good judgment
• Fluency in Czech or Slovak; professional proficiency in English for daily work

Preferred experience:

• Background with point-of-sale systems, hospitality, retail, fintech products, dashboards, or design systems
• Front-end development skills are welcome but not required

This role suits someone who has moved beyond executing defined tasks and wants broader ownership. We need a designer who understands problems holistically, works effectively with users, can defend design decisions, and collaborates with teams to see projects through to completion.

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process based on your experience and the client's budget parameters.
