About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential enterprise software organization in their search for a Principal Enterprise Architect based in Munich. Our client is a leader in process intelligence and AI-driven business transformation, working with global enterprises to modernize their technology landscapes.
This is a high-impact role requiring deep technical expertise combined with executive presence. You will design transformative solution architectures for enterprise clients, present to C-level executives, and translate strategic goals into actionable technical plans. Your work will directly support revenue growth by unlocking technical blockers and enabling both new customer acquisition and expansion within existing accounts.
Responsibilities
- Lead and define overall architecture, data, and cloud strategy for enterprise client accounts, leveraging enterprise modernization and capability mapping expertise
- Engage with and present to customer C-level executives, aligning their strategic objectives with technical solutions
- Drive innovation by identifying and architecting solutions using emergent technologies, including Agentic AI
- Bridge product and engineering teams with client technical teams to deliver optimal solutions
- Assess IT landscape maturity across the customer installed base
- Participate in pre-sales and post-sales phases by engaging with customer architecture and security teams
- Coach and guide consulting teams and ecosystem partners on technical implementation including architecture, integration, performance, and scalability
- Develop reusable assets and accelerators for consulting teams
- Create customer-facing position papers, thought leadership presentations, and technical designs for internal and client stakeholders
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- 10 to 15 years of relevant experience as a Software Vendor Architect, CTO at a top consulting firm, or Enterprise Architect
- Proven ability to think strategically, connecting technical solutions to business value and customer objectives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience presenting complex technical concepts and strategic visions to C-level executives
- Demonstrated experience in Capability Mapping, Enterprise Modernization, and strong understanding of Agentic AI
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, SaaS solutions, ERP systems (SAP, Salesforce, Dynamics CRM, ServiceNow), cybersecurity fundamentals, API ecosystems, and legacy on-premise architectures
- Strong background in Data Architecture, integration patterns, and development experience with data-related languages (SQL, Python, etc.)
- Technical depth to comfortably switch from explaining architecture diagrams to coding or assembling demos
- MSc degree in Computer Science or equivalent in an Information Technology-related field
- Fluency in German and English required; additional languages such as Spanish, French, or Italian are a strong advantage
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS/Azure/GCP Certifications
- ESB/ETL Certifications (Mulesoft, Oracle, SAP, Talend, Informatica)
- TOGAF/Zachman Certification
- Experience in at least two domains: Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Customer/Consumer Management, HR, or Procurement
- Experience in at least two industries: Consumer Goods, Banking, Pharma, Aerospace, Telco, or Transport
