Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential satellite imaging and data analytics organization seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer with specialized expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) to join their Corporate Engineering team in Berlin. This hybrid role requires on-site presence three days per week and offers the opportunity to architect critical infrastructure for a global technology company.

As a Senior SRE, you will serve as the technical authority for enterprise identity ecosystems, working alongside talented engineers to ensure continuous operation and advancement of corporate infrastructure and applications with a specific focus on IAM platforms.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain identity provider platforms including Okta, Auth0, and Keycloak, ensuring high availability and reliability
• Engineer automated zero-day Joiner, Mover, and Leaver (JML) workflows integrating directly with HRIS systems
• Build custom provisioning connectors for legacy applications using Python or Go to automate repetitive tasks and enforce identity data minimization
• Reduce operational toil through automation, creating self-healing and predictable systems
• Manage configurations as code using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or SaltStack, moving away from manual UI/CLI changes
• Participate in on-call rotation and drive continuous improvement of incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and post-mortem processes for complex authentication failures
• Collaborate with Security and IT teams to embed reliability, scalability, and security best practices, ensuring identity architecture complies with GDPR and Zero Trust principles

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in infrastructure development and/or operations with dedicated focus on Identity and Access Management
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Expert-level proficiency with Python scripting
• Proven track record managing complex identity architectures (Okta, Auth0, Keycloak) in large web applications or computer clusters
• Experience integrating HR Information Systems with identity directories and handling complex edge cases such as re-hires and cross-border transfers
• Solid understanding of network principles and modern identity protocols including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM
• Practical understanding of PKI, certificate lifecycles (S/MIME, X.509), and managing legacy directories like Active Directory

Preferred Qualifications:

• Operational experience deploying and maintaining databases in production environments
• Experience using Docker, ECS, or Linux Containers in production
• Awareness of systems security best practices and defensive programming
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
• Experience deploying and maintaining virtual machines using KVM or ProxMox
• Experience with CI/CD processes and tools including Jenkins or GitLab
• Familiarity with Access Control systems such as Avigilon, Verkada, or dormakaba
• Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) deployment automation, renewal, and revocation of personal S/MIME certificates
