(Senior) Software Engineer – Data Integration Focus – Remote (m/f/d)

We are representing a confidential healthtech organization that is building AI-powered solutions to transform administrative workflows in medical practices. Our client is backed by leading European investors and experiencing rapid growth across Germany and beyond.

We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in data integration to help scale their platform from hundreds to hundreds of thousands of healthcare practitioners. This is a remote role with significant technical ownership and impact.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement production-grade read/write integrations with third-party practice management systems and healthcare software
• Build scalable infrastructure capable of supporting hundreds of thousands of individual practice servers
• Engineer robust reliability into integration systems: data consistency, idempotency, retry logic, error handling, and comprehensive observability
• Triage and resolve integration failures in production environments, communicating impact clearly to stakeholders
• Define technical standards and architecture patterns that make integration work sustainable at scale
• Establish pragmatic development, maintenance, and incident handling processes for the integration layer
• Harden systems based on production learnings to prevent entire classes of failures from recurring

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Strong hands-on programming experience in Python, TypeScript, and/or Rust
• Proven track record building and operating software in production environments
• Deep understanding of integration patterns, distributed systems architecture, and failure modes
• Ability to work effectively in messy environments with inconsistent behavior, incomplete documentation, and third-party systems beyond your control
• Clear communication skills under pressure during incidents, vendor escalations, and competing priorities
• Enthusiasm for fast-paced startup environments

Preferred:

• Prior experience with healthcare software or practice management systems
• Familiarity with healthcare workflows, terminology, or data standards such as FHIR
• Fluent German language skills (spoken and written)
• Background working in startups or scale-up environments
