Senior Refined Products Inventory Analyst

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential data intelligence organization in their search for a Senior Refined Products Inventory Analyst based in the United Kingdom. Our client specializes in transforming complex commodity market data into actionable insights for trading and energy sector clients worldwide.

In this role, you will be instrumental in building and expanding global storage intelligence capabilities, working at the intersection of data operations, satellite imagery analysis, and oil market dynamics. You'll map terminal infrastructure, validate data from satellite and aerial sources, and ensure the accuracy of refined products datasets that power critical market decisions.

Responsibilities

• Map and classify refined product storage assets, blending units, and terminal infrastructure by product category and operational function
• Validate satellite imagery and thermal data to verify storage tank structures, estimate fill capacities, and detect operational changes across key energy hubs
• Design and optimize scalable workflows for terminal onboarding, quality assurance, and automated data processing in collaboration with engineering teams
• Apply operational knowledge of refinery storage, blending processes, and transport dynamics to maintain data integrity during market disruptions
• Lead regional and global expansion efforts, establishing methodologies for rolling out coverage from current European and North American hubs to worldwide assets
• Partner cross-functionally with research, product, commercial, and customer success teams to support sales enablement and incorporate client feedback
• Respond to ad-hoc client data requests with rapid, well-structured analysis

What We're Looking For

Must-have qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in inventory intelligence, terminal logistics, or oil market data analytics and operations
• Demonstrated capability working with satellite, aerial, or thermal imagery to validate asset structures and extract operational intelligence
• Strong technical skills with data handling tools including Excel, SQL, or Python for processing and auditing complex datasets
• Proven ability to work autonomously, build operational workflows from scratch, and resolve granular data issues in a remote work environment

Preferred qualifications:

• Deep understanding of refined products storage infrastructure (gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, fuel oil), including tank functions, blending operations, and dispatch practices
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally across product, engineering, and commercial teams within a commodity or market data environment
