You will own a functional team within Platform Engineering, managing both technical delivery and people leadership. The team's scope includes authentication and identity systems, event infrastructure (broker-as-a-service, schemas, integrations), and shared platform patterns that prevent teams from reinventing common infrastructure solutions.

  • Manage team priorities and deliveries, partnering with Product Managers to implement strategic initiatives

  • Drive non-functional improvements to production systems including security, observability, and operational excellence
  • Build a culture of open communication and psychological safety within the team
  • Collaborate asynchronously across multiple timezones and countries

  • Excellent asynchronous communication skills across distributed teams
  • Strong organisation and planning capabilities
  • Experience mentoring and coaching teams to perform at a high level
  • Background managing large-scale internet-facing distributed systems serving millions of users
  • Deep knowledge of security best-practices, security tooling, and CI/CD methodologies
  • Must have the right to work in the UK at time of application; visa sponsorship is not available

Highly Valued:

  • Track record of cross-functional collaboration to drive holistic outcomes
  • Proactive, innovative mindset with focus on continuous improvement
  • Experience in remote-first asynchronous teams providing 24x7 support
  • Familiarity with: TypeScript, Python, Terraform, AWS Lambda/IAM/EventBridge/SQS/SNS/DynamoDB/ECS/EKS, messaging queues, event-driven architectures, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux
