About This Opportunity
We are representing a well-established game development studio seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join their team in 2027. Our client is a respected organization in the interactive entertainment industry with over two decades of experience creating innovative gaming experiences across console, PC, and mobile platforms.
This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers passionate about game development to work alongside talented artists, designers, and senior engineers in a collaborative, sustainable work environment.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with artists and designers to understand and define game features and system requirements
- Implement, test, debug, and maintain source code for game systems
- Deliver high-quality, functional systems to specification
- Collaborate with other engineers to develop and iterate on game features
- Provide ongoing technical support to artists and designers
- Make informed trade-offs among scope, quality, and development pace
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Strong programming skills with deep knowledge of algorithms and data structures
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or similar discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Demonstrated ability to set goals, manage workload, and communicate task status effectively
Preferred:
- Experience developing software in a professional environment
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Hands-on experience with Unreal and/or Unity game engines
- Proficiency in C++ or C#
- Experience developing applications or games for mobile or console platforms
