Senior Sales Consultant Smart Grids (all genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential clean-tech organization at the forefront of Germany's energy transition. Our client is seeking a Senior Sales Consultant – Smart Grids to join their Sales and Business Development team in Cologne or remotely from Germany.

In this role, you will directly influence revenue growth by developing new enterprise projects and winning grid operators as long-term clients. You'll take ownership of the full sales cycle while working with a collaborative, international team that values trust, self-initiative, and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key enterprise clients across the DACH region
• Create strategic account plans to achieve and exceed sales targets and business objectives
• Implement strategies to attract high-value new customers and expand existing accounts through cross-selling and upselling
• Manage the entire sales cycle from opportunity identification and presentations through to contract negotiation and closing
• Identify emerging customer requirements and support strategic development of the product portfolio
• Own the strategic direction of tenders, ensuring customer alignment and collaborating with Bid Managers and Sales Engineers on compelling proposals
• Act as a technology sparring partner, uncovering client pain points and matching them to platform capabilities to drive new use cases
• Collaborate closely with marketing, customer success, and product development teams to ensure seamless client experiences

What We're Looking For

• University degree in industrial engineering, business administration with technology management specialization, or comparable field
• Proven track record as a Key Account Manager, Sales Manager, or similar role in the energy sector
• Strategic thinking with skill in navigating complex customer organizations, identifying opportunities, and aligning stakeholders
• Strong communication skills with a confident, solution-oriented, hands-on approach
• Team player mentality with commitment to supporting colleagues toward common goals
• Fluent in German and English
• High degree of initiative and comfort working independently
