Position Summary

As a Senior Software Development Engineer focused on Agentic and Semantic Systems, you'll take a leadership role in developing sophisticated software solutions that leverage intelligent agents and semantic technologies. Working within Workday's innovation team, you'll architect systems that advance how enterprises understand and process complex data through artificial intelligence and natural language capabilities. This is a hands-on technical role where your expertise will directly shape product direction and impact thousands of organizations globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop core systems for agentic frameworks and semantic processing pipelines that handle enterprise-scale workloads
  • Lead technical implementation of AI-driven features that enhance platform intelligence and decision-making capabilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate semantic understanding into enterprise solutions
  • Build and optimize scalable backend services that support real-time agentic decision-making and reasoning
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions for emerging technologies
  • Ensure code quality, performance, and security across complex distributed systems

Skills & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience with demonstrated expertise in systems design and architecture
  • Strong proficiency in at least one systems-level programming language such as Java, C++, Go, or Rust
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, concurrency patterns, and scalable architecture design
  • Experience with or demonstrated strong interest in AI/ML systems, natural language processing, or semantic technologies
  • Proven ability to lead technical design decisions and communicate complex concepts effectively across teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
