About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential public sector technology organization seeking a Consultant to join their team in Mainz. Our client specializes in digital solutions for government agencies and public administration. This role offers the flexibility of remote work within Germany.
As a Public Sector Consultant, you'll play a critical role in shaping the digital transformation of public administration. You'll work on high-impact projects involving the digitization of government services, implementation of modern administrative processes, and the elimination of burdensome documentation requirements through innovative technological approaches.
Responsibilities
- Lead and shape consulting projects for public sector clients across federal, state, and municipal levels
- Guide government organizations through digital transformation initiatives
- Support the design of strategies, organizational structures, and processes for public agencies
- Collaborate with project teams to gather client requirements and develop innovative solution concepts
- Manage IT solution implementations from preparation through piloting, testing, and go-live
- Facilitate workshops, information sessions, and training programs for diverse stakeholders
- Develop documentation including guidelines, handbooks, and materials for governance processes
- Oversee post-implementation activities including support structures, user feedback, and transition to stable operations
- Engage in continuous professional development and knowledge sharing within the team
What We're Looking For
- Completed degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Administrative Informatics, Law, Business Informatics, or another relevant field that qualifies you for this role
- Initial experience in consulting or IT project management; exposure to public administration is highly valued
- Strong understanding of project planning and management methodologies
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to guide users and stakeholders through change management processes
- Ability to translate complex content into clear, accessible documentation
- Technical understanding and interest in system implementation topics including configuration, interfaces, data migration, customization, and testing
- Forward-thinking approach that considers support, hypercare, user feedback, and operational transition planning
- Genuine interest in public administration digitization and successful IT service implementation in government organizations
- Knowledge of administrative digitization frameworks, data protection, or IT service management is a plus, though willingness to learn is most important
- Strong German language skills required for this role
