Assistant Coach – Women’s Basketball

Position Summary

The Assistant Coach role provides comprehensive support to the Head Coach and women's basketball program. You'll work directly with players on skill development, game strategy, and athletic excellence while helping shape the culture and success of our team. This position requires dedication to player welfare, institutional compliance, and the pursuit of athletic and academic achievement.

Core Duties

• Coach players on basketball fundamentals, individual position skills, and tactical game play during practices, games, and off-season training
• Contribute to recruitment efforts, including player identification, campus visits, and prospect evaluation
• Design and deliver strength, conditioning, and skill development programs tailored to player needs
• Scout opposing teams and develop game strategies and scouting reports
• Manage team logistics, including travel coordination, equipment, and game-day operations
• Mentor and support players' personal development, academic progress, and overall wellbeing
• Maintain compliance with NCAA regulations, University policies, and conference requirements
• Participate in community engagement and fundraising activities to support the program

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Previous college or professional basketball coaching experience
• Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and Division I basketball
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and develop players
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive team environment
• Passion for coaching excellence and student-athlete development
