Registered Nurse, Short-term Psych Unit, Full-time 2nd Shift, Virtua Willingboro

Virtua is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for the Short-term Psychiatric Unit at Burlington Hospital, located at 218 A Sunset Rd. This is an evening shift position where you'll provide direct patient care, clinical assessment, and therapeutic support to individuals experiencing acute psychiatric needs.

About the Role

Join our behavioral health team as a Registered Nurse on the 2nd shift. You'll work in a structured inpatient psychiatric setting, caring for patients with acute mental health conditions and supporting their stabilization and recovery. This full-time nursing position offers meaningful clinical work in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to psychiatric inpatients during evening and overnight hours
• Assess and monitor patient mental status, physical health, and medication responses
• Administer medications as prescribed and document psychiatric and behavioral observations
• Implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team
• Maintain a safe, therapeutically structured environment
• Respond effectively to behavioral health crises and de-escalate challenging situations
• Partner with psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary staff
• Educate patients and families about mental health treatment and recovery

What You Bring

• Current New Jersey Registered Nurse license or eligibility to obtain one
