About This Position
This part-time day shift role offers an opportunity to specialize in pediatric nursing within Virtua's supportive healthcare environment. You'll work flexible schedules while maintaining the highest standards of clinical care for our younger patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical care to pediatric patients, including assessment, monitoring, and treatment delivery
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy according to protocols and physician orders
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatment plans, and post-care instructions
- Document patient assessments and nursing interventions in medical records with accuracy and timeliness
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care
- Monitor vital signs and report significant changes to attending physicians
- Maintain safe, clean, and therapeutic environments for pediatric patients
What You Bring
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure valid in New Jersey
- Clinical experience or demonstrated competency in pediatric nursing care
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with children, families, and healthcare teams
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Commitment to patient safety, compassion, and professional nursing standards
