The Opportunity

Virtua is hiring a Medical Technologist to deliver critical laboratory testing during overnight shifts at Burlington Hospital's location on Sunset Road. This full-time night position is essential to ensuring physicians and patients receive accurate, timely diagnostic results that inform treatment decisions. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently during night hours while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and patient safety.

Core Duties

• Perform clinical chemistry, hematology, and immunology testing using laboratory instrumentation
• Collect blood samples and process various specimen types following standard protocols
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain clinical laboratory analyzers and equipment
• Execute quality control testing and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
• Record and verify test results in the laboratory information system
• Communicate with healthcare teams regarding specimen quality and result availability
• Adhere to CLIA regulations, facility policies, and infection control standards

Skills & Qualifications

• Active Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification
• ASCP or equivalent national certification required or ability to obtain
• Hands-on experience with clinical laboratory equipment and analyzers
• Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and regulatory requirements
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of the night shift team
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems and basic computer skills
• High school diploma or GED
