Private Equity Operations Manager / Operations Director (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential private equity firm seeking an Operations Manager / Operations Director for their growing operations team in München. This role involves leading operational improvement projects and sustainable value creation initiatives across portfolio companies. Depending on qualifications and experience, you may assume executive leadership responsibilities within portfolio companies, making this an ideal pathway to a top management position (CEO, COO, CXO) with equity participation opportunities within a few years.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Executing diverse operational development projects across portfolio companies through process optimization and growth acceleration
• Taking on temporary leadership roles in portfolio companies as Marketing, Supply Chain, Sales, or Production Director, based on fit and experience
• Supporting transaction processes on both buy-side and sell-side, including conducting commercial due diligence
• Driving digital transformation initiatives and implementing business cases within the portfolio

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings:

• Successful completion of a business or technical degree from a recognized university
• Either 5+ years of consulting experience at a top-tier strategy consultancy, OR a combination of 3+ years in top management consulting plus 2+ years in industry with initial operational leadership experience
• Strong digital affinity and ideally experience with digital transformation projects
• Analytical problem-solving approach combined with entrepreneurial execution strength
• Strong affinity for the mid-market sector with a hands-on mentality and excellent communication skills
• Fluent German and English proficiency, both written and spoken
• Willingness to travel and maintain high on-site presence at portfolio companies
• Genuine desire to work operatively in a mid-market environment, embracing the practical and varied nature of the role
