Senior Android Developer (3-Month Contract/ $2500 monthly) –

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential technology client seeking a Senior Android Developer for a 3-month contract engagement. This role offers the opportunity to work with a forward-thinking organization that values clean code, modern Android development practices, and collaborative engineering.

This is a full-time contract position requiring 160 hours per month. Please note that the initial onboarding will require one week on-site in Chennai, India (accommodation provided by the client). The contract may be extended based on project needs and performance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using modern frameworks and best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following established coding standards
• Participate in the entire application lifecycle from concept through maintenance
• Debug and resolve technical issues to ensure optimal application performance
• Perform unit testing and ensure robustness, reliability, and performance of applications
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with the team
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging Android technologies
• Implement mobile development best practices and adhere to security guidelines
• Build and maintain Android libraries via Gradle/Maven

What We're Looking For

Required Experience & Skills:

• 6+ years of experience in native mobile application development
• Deep expertise in native Android development (cross-platform knowledge in iOS, Flutter, React Native is a plus)
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java programming languages
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, and Android UI design principles
• In-depth understanding of mobile design patterns including MVC, MVP, MVVM, Clean Architecture
• Experience building and maintaining Android libraries via Gradle/Maven
• Strong experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, JSON, and third-party library integration
• Working knowledge of unit testing and Android automated testing (Espresso UI Automation)
• Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git and GitLab
• Understanding of CI/CD principles and tools like Jenkins and Fastlane
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and test-driven development
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly to new technologies
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across remote teams
• Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles and mobile accessibility standards
• Familiarity with Google Play policies for app submission

Preferred Skills:

• Experience building Android Modules, SDKs, and frameworks
• Familiarity with Bluetooth, BT Profiles, Digital Key, OAuth 2.0
• Experience working closely with designers and UX experts
