Data Acquisition Specialist – External Data (Remote – UK)

Overview

We are representing a confidential clinical research organization seeking a Data Acquisition Specialist - External Data to join their team remotely in the UK. This role focuses on defining, setting up, and managing external data streams for clinical trials, working with diverse data sources including central labs, ECG, medical imaging, biomarkers, genomics, real-world data, EHR, ePRO, wearables, sensors, and other digital collection technologies.

Responsibilities

• Execute deliverables for standardized external data streams aligned with clinical trial protocols
• Assess external data collection requirements and plan set-up activities to meet study start-up timelines
• Collaborate with data stakeholders to establish data collection purposes and requirements for transfer, ingestion, and structure in compliance with data protection regulations
• Create change requests for new test concepts or data structures relating to external data
• Develop trial-specific Data Transfer Agreements (tsDTAs) documenting study requirements and methods for data transfer, ingestion, and structure
• Ensure data transfer frequencies meet requirements for medical data review, central monitoring, and reporting
• Partner with external data providers to align on and agree to tsDTAs
• Translate medical and scientific concepts into data mapping guidance per agreed data models
• Conduct UAT of test data transfers to ensure accuracy and consistency with specifications
• Implement data transfer mechanisms and provide access for external data providers
• Monitor availability and accuracy of external data streams and resolve conformance issues with providers

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing data in support of clinical research
• Experience working with external data sources such as Safety Lab, PK, biomarkers, ECG, and similar
• Proven experience working with external data providers in clinical study settings
• Experience developing data transfer agreements
• Clinical trial experience required
• Experience working in diverse, cross-functional, global, multiregional clinical research teams
• Knowledge of SDTM standards
• Working knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• This role is not eligible for UK visa sponsorship
