About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential SaaS client seeking a Growth Marketing Manager – Performance Marketing to own paid acquisition across digital channels. This is a rare opportunity to take full budget ownership in a fast-moving, self-service growth environment where performance is measured daily and creative-led experimentation drives results.
Our client operates in the German SMB market with a high-volume, short-cycle sales model that resembles direct-to-consumer more than traditional enterprise B2B. You will be responsible for bringing in trials and converting them to paying customers—with real accountability for outcomes, not vanity metrics.
Responsibilities
- Own the paid acquisition budget end to end—strategy, channel mix, allocation and daily optimization—and be accountable for performance
- Plan, launch and scale campaigns across Google Ads (Search, PMax, YouTube), Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Reddit, native, affiliate and comparison portals
- Manage to unit economics: trials, trial-to-paid conversion, CAC, payback period and LTV/CAC ratios
- Build a systematic testing cadence with clear hypotheses, decision rules and documented learnings across audiences, bidding strategies, offers, landing pages and creative angles
- Collaborate closely with creative strategists to brief tests, analyze results and decide what scales
- Own tracking, attribution and measurement infrastructure including GA4, GTM, server-side tracking, conversion values and offline conversion uploads
- Optimize the full funnel from ad to trial to paid customer, working cross-functionally with growth, product and sales teams
- Evaluate and launch new acquisition channels, making rapid decisions on budget allocation
- Report performance transparently with clear explanations of what worked, what didn't, and next steps
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Several years of hands-on performance marketing with genuine budget responsibility, ideally in B2B SaaS and/or high-velocity DTC brands
- Expert-level proficiency in at least one major paid channel (Google Ads or Meta) and solid competency across others
- Strong command of unit economics including CAC, payback period, LTV/CAC and contribution margin
- Confident with tracking, attribution and analytics setups—able to troubleshoot broken measurement independently
- Creative instinct to evaluate ad performance, brief improvements and identify winning angles
- Structured approach to testing with documented hypotheses, sample sizes, decision rules and learnings
- Hands-on mentality with high ownership—comfortable making budget decisions independently
- Fluent German and English (customer base is German SMBs)
- Degree in marketing, business, business informatics or equivalent demonstrated experience
Preferred:
- Experience with free-trial or freemium subscription models and self-service checkout flows
- Familiarity with comparison portals, affiliate and marketplace channels in Germany
- Multi-market or multi-language paid campaign experience
