About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential geospatial technology organization seeking a Solutions Architect I to join their Professional Services team in Berlin. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in the Berlin office.
As a Solutions Architect, you will work directly with customers to understand their complex challenges and design robust technical solutions. You'll apply your remote sensing and geospatial expertise to architect systems that deliver long-term value, working at the intersection of satellite imagery, cloud platforms, and enterprise data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Architect and design solutions that transform customer requirements into robust technical architectures aligned with business and technology strategies
- Deliver workshops, tailored demo applications, and workflows, designing user experiences for solution prototyping
- Support pre-sales and customer expansion initiatives through solution ideation and design leveraging remote sensing and geospatial knowledge
- Act as technical lead in solution development teams within Agile environments, supported by project managers and software engineers
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including product owners, technical project managers, and engineering teams
- Support bidding and technical proposal writing for large civil government and commercial projects alongside sales, marketing, and business development teams
- Own the customer success lifecycle from scoping and discovery through project execution and delivery
- Champion products and offerings through training, conference presentations, technical tutorials, and published content
- Engage with education and research program users to identify novel applications and insights
What We're Looking For
Required qualifications:
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in a technical geospatial or remote sensing role
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, Geography, or related field
- Background in remote sensing, geoscience, or geoinformatics
- Extensive Python programming ability for geospatial applications, including imagery processing, vector data manipulation, and data pipeline development
- Experience with solution design, requirement gathering, product user story ideation, and solutions architecture documentation
- Proficiency with QGIS, ArcGIS, GDAL, ENVI or other common geospatial software
- Industry-specific knowledge in domains such as forestry, natural disasters, sustainability, or agriculture
- Familiarity with cloud computing environments such as GCP, AWS, and Azure
- Experience working in Agile, cross-functional teams with metrics-based planning and delivery
- Experience using AI for productivity, coding, and demo app creation
- Ability to run workshops or training sessions with users, including direct end-user troubleshooting
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced experience with machine learning algorithms applied to geospatial data and AI for geospatial applications
- Working knowledge of modern cloud tools and pipelines, including serverless functions, CI/CD integrations, and AI platforms
- Knowledge of the Challenger methodology for client engagement
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and mapping libraries (OpenLayers, Leaflet) as well as web development frameworks like React
