About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the digital marketplace sector who is building the next generation of AI-powered product experiences. This is a remote opportunity based in Canada where you'll define and deliver machine learning and AI capabilities that solve real customer problems and drive measurable business outcomes.

Our talent team is looking for a Senior Product Manager with deep AI/ML expertise who can bridge the gap between data science, engineering, and customer value. You'll own the strategy and execution for AI features across areas like recommendations, search, pricing optimization, and conversational tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI-powered products within your domain, connecting machine learning models and large language models to customer needs
  • Define end-to-end product plans from discovery and problem framing through launch, adoption, and continuous optimization of AI capabilities
  • Conduct customer research, interviews, and usage analysis to identify where AI adds value and where traditional solutions are more appropriate
  • Serve as subject matter expert on AI product capabilities, limitations, responsible-use guidelines, and performance monitoring
  • Translate business and data requirements from diverse stakeholders into clear product outcomes and development increments
  • Maintain and prioritize product backlogs that include AI experimentation, feature delivery, and technical debt management
  • Partner with data science and engineering teams to build scalable AI solutions, managing considerations around model costs, infrastructure, and responsible deployment
  • Monitor AI-specific quality issues including output quality, bias detection, hallucination risks, and safety protocols
  • Define minimum viable products that balance customer value, technical feasibility, and responsible AI principles
  • Develop business cases for AI investments with clear articulation of expected value, costs, and key risks
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify how AI is changing user expectations and market opportunities
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across product, design, QA, sales, and support teams to validate and ship AI features

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in product management, business administration, engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of product management or product ownership experience in software product development environments
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience building AI/ML-powered features or data products
  • Proven ability to work with both technical teams (data scientists, ML engineers) and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong requirements gathering and stakeholder management skills across diverse groups
  • Experience with modern product tools such as JIRA and collaboration platforms
  • Familiarity with analytics or experimentation tools (Optimizely, Fullstory, Adobe Analytics, or similar) is a plus
  • Background in marketplaces, e-commerce, SaaS, advertising, or other data-intensive domains is highly valued
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML product considerations including model performance, infrastructure costs, and responsible deployment practices
  • Ability to communicate complex AI concepts clearly to non-technical audiences without hype or oversimplification
  • Experience managing AI-specific risks such as bias, safety, and output quality
  • Customer-centric mindset with strong discovery and validation skills
