Werkstudent*in Klimafreundliche Busse (Data Analysis)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential public-sector consulting organization working on sustainable transport initiatives. As a working student focused on data analysis for climate-friendly buses, you will provide data-driven support for day-to-day operations related to alternative drive systems in public transportation.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Analyzing and processing transportation data using Python and SQL to generate actionable insights
• Monitoring and analyzing market and technology developments in the bus and alternative propulsion sector
• Creating clear visualizations and graphics using Plotly to support market analysis and communicate complex relationships
• Developing standardized Python functions for internal libraries
• Organizing and systematizing relevant data foundations to ensure knowledge is well-structured and accessible
• Researching program-relevant information and identifying new data sources
• Supporting the team with inquiries from political, economic, and research stakeholders
• Assisting with preparation and follow-up for meetings and events
• Taking on smaller sub-projects, coordination tasks, and reporting duties

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Natural Sciences, Engineering, or a comparable field
• Foundational knowledge in Python (especially pandas, Plotly), SQL (Redshift), and Git, with eagerness to develop these skills further
• Interest in the electrification of public transport, particularly buses
• Experience with data preparation and visualization
• Interest in cloud-based IT architectures such as AWS; practical experience is a plus
• Desire to gain hands-on experience with databases, data architectures, and data processing workflows
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Structured, reliable, and independent working style
• Very good German language skills required

This working student position offers flexible hours (ideally 19.5 hours per week) that can be arranged around your university schedule. Up to 60% remote work is possible. The role is based in Berlin with excellent public transport connections. The initial contract is for one year, with potential for extension.
